International Invitations

Public Servants' Prayer has had many invitations through the years to aid and assist other like minded ministries internationally. We are honored to be asked to participate in these events. Most recently we were asked to speak, pray, and bring legislators to the 2nd Annual Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast. As we did not know quite what to expect, we decided to only bring a few legislators with us this time, so two Indiana state representatives and one state senator joined us. We had no idea how it would all work out, but we put our best effort into planning and organizing the trip. Our flight had a 1 S-hour layover in Rome, so we decided to do a day trip to the inimitable city! It was an amazing, yet exhausting day. We then flew on to Israel and spent three days touring the country. We visited to the Dead Sea, Masada, Hezekiah's Tunnel, the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Wailing Wall, Garden Tomb, Pool of Bethesda, and many other sites.

Subsequently, the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast events commenced. We began by going to the Israeli Parliament, called the Knesset. Our legislators were honored by being moved to the front and center, joining other leaders from around the world. There were kings, princes, members of parliament, and other leaders in attendance. We heard from several renowned Christian leaders as well. One of the highlights for me was singing "Great is Thy Faithfulness" with all of these leaders inside the Israeli Knesset!

The actual Prayer Breakfast was held the next day in a large hotel. We were told that there were 700 people from 70 nations in attendance celebrating 70 years of the existence of the modern state of Israel. It was a special time indeed. One of the legislators who went with us said, "I can't thank you enough for including me on this marvelous adventure. I'm in awe of our trip." It truly was an amazing experience, and we have been asked by the Knesset to bring more leaders next year.

I recently returned from a trip to Accra, Ghana, Africa. The purpose of the trip was to speak and pray at a prayer breakfast in the capital. However, the Lord did much more than we anticipated. I was thrilled to have a state representative and pastor travel with me. The timing of the trip coincided with the funeral of former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. We were honored to be invited to attend the small state funeral and a reception at the president's house (The Jubilee House, similar to our White House.) We met with many leaders there. I was seated next to a young, up-and-coming lawyer in the administration named Dominic. He asked me many questions about religion and my personal beliefs. I told him I wasn't into a religion, but a relationship with Jesus Christ. It was a privilege to be able to share the gospel on such a momentous occasion. Please pray for Dominic. At the prayer breakfast the next day, we were asked to read Scripture, speak, and pray. The Minister of Finance (who is third in line in the nation) attended and gave a wonderful testimony of bringing Christ to bear in his area of influence. Praise God that He has his people everywhere!

We are also making plans to speak and sponsor the fourth biennial "Global Conference of Parliament and Faith" in Brazil next Spring. Please be praying for wisdom in how much we are to be involved in the many doors that are open to ministry in the political arena around the world.
