"A great blessing for me today to participate in a Bible study held in the beautiful Beth Bowen Chapel & Meditation Room in the Indiana Capitol.

Hosted by the duo of Indiana Statehouse Chaplain Matthew Barnes and Women’s Ministry Director & Chaplain Pamela Russell, this weekly Bible study is a high point of my work-week when I’m able to attend.

Chaplains Barnes & Russell and their able team bring the love and ministry of Jesus Christ to Indiana state officials, their staffs, and their families without regard to political party, creed, religious affiliation or other labels that too often divide friends and neighbors.

They open legislative days and sessions in prayer, pray for and with our public servants and state employees (and encourage others to pray for them as per 1 Timothy 2:1-4). They lead Bible studies and prayer services, promote goodwill and reconciliation, and with a humble confidence quietly go about these and many other worthy endeavors at no cost to the State of Indiana or its taxpayers.

The Indiana Public Servants Prayer team extends its ministry to Marion County & Indianapolis public servants, staff and families through Life Line Baptist Church Senior Pastor Tim Lindsey II, who serves as volunteer Chaplain to the Indianapolis City-County Council.
