Moving Forward By God's Grace

God has blessed Public Servants' Prayer abundantly above all that we can ask, think, or imagine (Eph. 3:20). Below is a list of various ministry goals we are hoping to accomplish this year. We truly do treasure your prayers and financial support. As you read, please take time to pray for each area. Words cannot express our deep gratitude for your support!

Joining the National Day of Prayer Committee

Early this year, we had a wonderful surprise. Dave Butts, NDP committee chairman, reached out to us about partnering with the National Day of Prayer. He invited us to attend their annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas. Matt and I were so impressed by what we witnessed. This organization is composed of many significant prayer ministries all across the United States. W e were honored by the invitation to help support prayer events around our nation. Please pray for this new relationship. By God's grace, we hope to officially partner with the National Day of Prayer Committee in May.

Project 1816

Proverbs 18:16 states, "A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men." Almost 14 years ago, Matt brought the gifts of prayer and Scripture to our elected leaders in Indiana's state capitol. These precious gifts have truly brought him before great men. With Project 1816, Public Servants' Prayer would like to equip other pastors and lay leaders to do likewise in their local levels of government. This project is in its infancy, but we have found the Apostle Paul's model of engagement with leaders immensely effective. On May 9 and 10 we are meeting with two renowned strategists who will help us decipher how to expand this effort. Please be praying for wisdom and creativity in this endeavor. Also, see Pastor Tim Lindsey's article regarding our first thriving local government ministry. As a side note, Indiana was founded in 1816. :)

National Conference of State Legislators

Each year, hundreds of legislators gather from all 50 states for NCSL. This year it will be held in Los Angeles. For the first time, Public Servants' Prayer Newsletter I Issue 1 2018 Public Servants' Prayer plans to rent a booth and join them. While policy and various ideas for legislation will be all the buzz, we will be asking a simple question: "How can we pray for you?" The burden on legislators is great. They need to hear the great message that there is One who can bear their burdens. The Prince of Peace cares, and we are going to Los Angeles to give the GREAT News.

Washington D.C. Trip

The Public Servants' Prayer team plans to drive out to our nation's capital May 1-5. We have been invited to be a part of the National Day of Prayer festivities. Our team is also planning to visit with many Hoosiers who now serve in D.C. We hope to be a blessing to them. In addition to the National Day of Prayer events, we have also been invited by the Israeli Ambassador for a gathering at the Embassy. Lastly, our trip will end with a special meal with Os Guinness and his wife. Please pray for safe travel and meaningful engagement with others.

Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast

Last year, during our trip to Israel, Matt was asked to be on the board of the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast. This year we are taking an exploratory trip to consider this unique opportunity. We have a team of 14 going with us, including one state senator and two state representatives. The prayer breakfast is officially sponsored by the Israeli Knesset, and the potential of this 3 day event is significant (picture the National Prayer Breakfast on an international level). This will only be the second year of this event, so it is still being formed. Please pray for God to reveal what role, if any, Public Servants' Prayer should play in the future of this international prayer event.

Friend-raising

All the events above are undeniably exciting. God continues to open doors in a mighty way. New ventures, new staff, and new projects have led us to adopt our 2018 budget in faith as we press forward in pursuit of where God is leading. As you might imagine, all of this growth entails significant expense, for which we ask you to join us in prayer. Would you also prayerfully consider hosting an Information Roundtable? This type of event is usually held in someone's home or at a local restaurant. The host invites friends that would be interested in learning about the ministry. At the gathering, Matt and Pam would present the ministry and what God is doing.
