Keeping You Posted! Spring 2024

Dear Friends & Supporters,

The 2024 Legislative Session is in the books. As I reflect on the very intense, but very fruitful season, I pause to give honor and glory to God for all that was done. Last week, you received our ministry newsletter which highlighted the major ministry events at the Statehouse thus far this year. However, I do want to share with you one more ministry service I was able to provide for the entirety of Session that was not covered in the newsletter. God opened the door for me to host a legislator and her family in the (humble) guest quarters of my home. Their son had been transported from their local hospital to an Indianapolis hospital as he battled a severe case of pneumonia. He was on a ventilator, and the doctors were not sure that he would survive. My home was only minutes from the hospital and made the daily commutes more manageable for the family. Our PSP team and the Leadership Bible Study members stormed the gates of heaven asking mercy for this son. The legislator’s family manned the hospital bedside around the clock. The legislator was able to do her Statehouse duties during the day and be at the hospital at night. I am not sure when she slept. God granted favor! The very last day of Session was the very last day in the hospital for this young man! They all traveled home together. Praise God!

Another legislator found out just before Session ended that she needed a biopsy to check on some suspicious cells. She called me to meet her in the Chapel for (confidential) prayer. We prayed then, and we are still regularly in touch for prayer and updates. I plan to walk with her through this challenging and scary season in her life.

I know this update is long overdue! I am purposing to do better this year at keeping you up to date on what is happening. Please Pray:

For legislator #1 and her family. For legislator #2 and her family. For me as I transition to a more normal pace of ministry and continue to foster the relationships developed and nurtured during Session. For our legislators during this election season to remember the “one another” statements of Scripture as they face hurtful, often cruel opposition. Thank you, partners; you are amazing! I am so thankful for your faithful and generous support and prayer! For Him, Pam Russell
