Fall Ministry Report

Dear Friends and Supporters,
And just like that, its fall, and time to give a brief recap on the summer and tell you about plans for the autumn months. My surgery went well, thank the Lord, and I am almost back up to par. Thank you for petitioning the Lord on my behalf! The summer has been well spent in planning, prep, and writing assignments for the next few months.
Looking Back
In my last article I wrote about the mission field giving back in the form of statehouse ladies that ministered to me as I recovered from major surgery. This time I want to highlight two of my supporting churches for their investment in me also. The day after I arrived home from surgery, my home experienced a plumbing issue and flooding. It took a week and several thousand dollars to fix. One church immediately came and helped with flood remediation, and another covered the cost of the plumbing repairs. THANK YOU! I praise God for you.
Washington DC
My September to December calendar has filled up fast. Our PSP team will be taking our annual “mission” trip to Washington DC to visit our Indiana congressmen and women. You may or may not find this hard to believe, but they love, first of all, a group that visits them from “home,” from Indiana, and second, because they know and love us (PSP), several from their time serving in the Indiana General Assembly, they are very welcoming and generous with their time with us, and look forward to us praying for them. The Lord has also developed a “Chaplain to Chaplain” ministry for us with Chaplain Barry Black of the US Senate and Chaplain Margaret Kibben of the US House of Representatives. We look forward to our time with each of them.
Zambia
Currently, I am getting my typhoid etc. vaccinations and malaria meds in readiness for our trip to Zambia. Our PSP team leaders will be the key speakers at a conference in the capital, Lusaka, where the guests will be elected leaders, pastors, and business leaders. The goal is to cast the vision for prayer and pastoral care in the political arena, conduct training, and help make connections between the pastors and elected leaders. And, we trust, also to meet the nation’s heads of state and present them with engraved Bibles.
Women’s Retreat
In November I am scheduled to speak at a women’s retreat on the southwest side of Indianapolis, much closer to home.
Roundtable
I am also expected to speak at a PSP Project 1816 Roundtable in southern Indiana, casting the vision for ministry to the women who serve in local government in Indiana.
PSP Women’s Giving Circle
In December we will host the Inaugural PSP Women’s Giving Circle (Dec 5th), a creative way to raise funds for the ministry: women investing in women. There may be an invitation coming your way, so watch for a “Save the Date” to arrive in your inbox.
I always say, once we set foot in September, we blink, and its Christmas. All that to say, you may not hear from me again until December!
