Season's Reflections
First, I want to praise the Lord for allowing me to complete fourteen years in ministry with PSP! I marvel at what He has done and what He allows me to do. I consider it a high honor to minister to those who hold the highest offices in our state, our nation, and across the globe. It is one of the sweetest spots in my life to be part of a like-minded, close-knit, loving team who each stand in awe at what we get to do. I also thank the Lord for raising up Matt and Miriam to this pioneer work. They set the course, the tone, and the standard for what we do.

“…Remember all the way the LORD thy God hath led thee…” - Deuteronomy 8:2

My experience has been that once we step foot into September, we blink, and it is December. This year has proven to be no different. I just blinked, and Christmas was here! My calendar tells me that since Labor Day I have had some marvelous opportunities. Kind friends hosted “Tea with Pam,” and I shared the work of PSP with those who had never heard. (Thank you, Karen Davis for hosting!) I spoke at a prayer brunch for state and local elected leaders in Valparaiso, was a keynote speaker and workshop leader at the inaugural Recovery and Faith Conference in Lafayette, represented PSP at a church missions’ conference, and opened a policy summit in prayer. In between events, my schedule has been full with coffee dates, counseling, and other crucial meetings with women state elected leaders, as I am often the only “safe” person they can share concerns and family trials with. The Lord has been good and faithful, and I am honored to be included in what He is doing in the political arena. I would appreciate prayer as I fulfill many more dates on my calendar, follow where He leads, and speak when He gives me opportunity.

Please Pray

Many of our PSP team members are enduring heavy burdens at present, much of which cannot be shared. Please uphold each of them in prayer.

My great-granddaughter, Quinn, is at Riley Children’s Hospital receiving chemo treatments for lymphoma. Your prayers for her and for our family are also tremendously appreciated!

How grateful we are for you, our partners, and your generous and sacrificial gifts to PSP that enable us to do what we do. I praise God for YOU!

Fifth Annual Indianapolis Prayer Service

On September 30, PSP Chaplain Tim Lindsey hosted the Fifth Annual Indianapolis Prayer Service at the Indianapolis City-County Building. The mayor and many city leaders and pastors led us in a meaningful time of prayer for our city and state. The Colonial Hills Christian School High School Choir honored us with a beautiful rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" and Matt filled the role of emcee. We were moved, as always, by the sweet turn out, love, support and prayers. Praise the Lord.

"And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. ... For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." - Jeremiah 29:7, 11-13

Ruthie and Tim Lindsey

Ruthie and Tim Lindsey

In Loving Memory - Ruth ("Ruthie") Ann Lindsey

Just one week before the prayer service at the City-County Building, Tim's precious wife and our sweet friend and team member, Ruthie Lindsey, went home to be with the Lord. Her favorite verse was Psalm 46:10 (above). Throughout her life and even through her difficult cancer journey, that verse's assurance, "Be STILL and KNOW" continued to be her testimony. We are comforted by the following verse (vs. 11) in the same Psalm, "The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah." Though we know she is now enjoying fellowship with the Savior, she will be greatly missed here! Please keep Tim and the rest of the Lindsey family in your prayers during this time.

Oh, the joy she must be feeling,
Enraptured by His boundless grace,
For at last she's now beholding,
Her Savior, Shepherd, face to face.

20th Anniversary Celebration & Fundraiser

In October, Gaylor Electric hosted PSP's 20th Anniversary & Fundraiser. Jessica closed the event with a song that she had been asked to sing at the National Conference of State Legislators, "The Goodness of God." The words so aptly describe how we as a ministry recognize God's divine, faithful hand of blessing as He has led us these past 20 years. We can't praise Him enough!

"All my life You have been faithful.
And all my life You have been so, so, good.
With every breath that I am able,
I will sing of the goodness of God."

Women's Bible Studies / Waffles & A Word

God continues to bless the Women’s Bible studies and fellowship with our sisters in Christ at the City-County Building and the Indianapolis Fire Department. We are thankful that God is enlarging His ministry of presence through us with “Waffles & A Word” at Center Township with Marion County Trustee, LaDonna Freeman.

Thank you for your steadfast prayers! Please continue to pray that God will be glorified through the works of our hands, the words of our mouths, and the meditations of our hearts.

God is Good!

The end of the year is a great time to look back and reflect on the bounty of God's graciousness. Remembering all the ways that He has provided, and the favor He has granted us to work for Him, brings us great joy. Especially at Christmastime, when we celebrate the Father's most precious gift, born to die for us, we are reminded that God is good.

20th Anniversary & Fundraiser

The PSP 20th Anniversary & Fundraiser held on October 17th was a reminder of God’s goodness. We are thankful for Gaylor Electric who provided a beautiful venue for the event and for the many hands involved in planning the details and organization. Praise God for the many familiar and new faces who attended the event, as well as the much-needed funds that were raised. God is good!

Ministry at the Cass County Courthouse

God has opened a door for ministry at the Cass County Government Building in Logansport, Indiana. August 7th was the first meeting with six attendees. Since then, I have been meeting twice a month with these faithful ones to pray and study the Bible. God is good!

Indiana Judiciary

I continue to serve the Judiciary with a weekly devotion, prayer support for each judge and their family, and prayers offered during the Supreme Court Oral Arguments.

Thank you for your prayers and financial partnership in supporting Public Servants’ Prayer. Your generosity enables PSP to continue serving our public servants.

Christian School Day - March 5th

We are continuing to move forward with plans for our first Christian School Day at the Statehouse. This event will focus on providing Christian high school students with the opportunity to:

1. Understand more about how their state government works

2. Hear from elected leaders

3. Demonstrate a gospel centered approach to engaging with their leaders

4. Learn how to effectively pray for their leaders

The event on March 5th will start at 10am and conclude at noon, followed by lunch and either a tour of the Statehouse or an opportunity to observe a House or Senate session.

A $10/student lunch cost will help to offset our food cost for the event. If this makes it cost prohibitive for your school, please let us know.

More event details will be forthcoming closer to the event, but we want to get this date onto the schools' schedules.

Please contact me if you know of a Christian school that would like to be part of this exciting event!

Governor's Mansion Tour

God opens some amazing doors for our team, and we experienced this once again last month when PSP was invited for a special day at the governor's residence. A longtime friend of the ministry, Hannah Bond, who works in the governor's office, offered our team a tour of the mansion before Governor Holcomb completes his term in January.

We learned more about our governor and the first lady as well as the history of the residence. It is a precedent that each governor and family leave some kind of "special mark" on the property, and it was no surprise to us that Governor Holcomb had chosen to put in a basketball court. We viewed the chicken coop that Mrs. Holcomb had designed and built(!) in the garden area, and we were each given a gift of honey from the bee hives instituted by the former first lady, Mrs. Pence.  Tim also enjoyed "tickling the ivories" in the exquisite sitting room, so beautifully decorated for Christmas.

New Ministry Assistant

We are excited to announce that Matthew and Miriam's daughter Sarah will be joining our team as a part-time personal assistant to her father. Sarah has been a vital part of this ministry since childhood, serving in many different capacities. She is skilled in graphic art and design, photography, event catering, technology, and much more. Coming on staff in this role will greatly expand our efforts and help to lift the burdens of the team, specifically for Matt. In the past month, she has already proven to be a great blessing as she can travel with her father to events and help to organize the many details of his ministry calendar.  She also designed the lovely Christmas card you see at the top and bottom of this newsletter. We praise the Lord for Sarah!

Thank You!

Thank you for your faithful prayers and generous support. You play an essential role in the ministry of Public Servants' Prayer. We now lift a praise to God for YOU and a prayer that YOU will be richly blessed this New Year with the nearness and blessings of Christ.
