Joseph Cryan is a member of the New Jersey State Senate, representing District 20. He assumed office in 2018. His current term ends on January 11, 2028. Cryan is a former Democratic member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing District 20 from 2001 to January 4, 2015. He resigned after he was elected sheriff of Union County. He previously served as Majority Leader.
