Chris Van Hollen is a member of the U.S. Senate from Maryland. He assumed office on January 3, 2017. His current term ends on January 3, 2029. Senate to represent Maryland. Van Hollen chaired the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee from 2017 to 2019. Van Hollen is a former Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Maryland's 8th Congressional District from 2002 to 2017. During his time in the House, he chaired the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2007 to 2011. Prior to his congressional career, Van Hollen served as a member of both the Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland State Senate.
