
Chrissy Houlahan was born at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, in 1967. She earned her bachelor's degree in engineering from Stanford University in 1989 and a master's in technology and policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before joining Congress, Houlahan served in the U.S. Air Force and the Air Force Reserves. Other work experience includes serving as the chief operating officer of AND1, an apparel company, the chief operating officer of B Lab, a nonprofit, and as a teacher in the Teach for America program.
