Eliezer Molina

Senator · At-Large
Puerto Rico

Eliezer Molina Pérez was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, and spent his formative years in San Sebastián. During his childhood, he developed a deep appreciation for the natural environment through experiences in the countryside. He graduated from Escuela Patria Torres Ramírez before attending the Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico, where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. Although he initially entered the profession with the goal of fostering economic progress through construction, he later shifted his focus toward environmental protection and sustainable development. Following the events of Hurricane María, the 2019 government crisis, earthquakes, and the pandemic, Molina Pérez began focusing on the protection of public maritime-terrestrial domains. He gained public recognition for his efforts in community self-management and oversight, particularly in the restoration of Playa Los Almendros in Rincón. This advocacy led to similar environmental restoration efforts in various coastal areas across Puerto Rico, including Aguadilla, Salinas, Río Grande, and Lajas. His efforts eventually led to his election to the Senate of Puerto Rico through a write-in campaign, making him the first senator-at-large elected via direct democracy in the country's history.
