Robin Weisz is a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 14. He assumed office in 1996. His current term ends on December 1, 2028. The North Dakota House of Representatives unanimously elected Weisz state speaker of the House, effective January 7, 2025. Weisz was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, in 1956. He was a farmer and owner of M + W, Incorporated. Before entering state politics, Weisz was the chair of the Lynn Township Supervisors from 1980 to 1994. He was first elected to the state House in 1996. In an interview with Prairie Public, Weisz said he was a committee chair during 14 state legislative sessions. In 2024, Weisz and his co-representative Jon Nelson faced Republican primary challengers. The district's endorsing convention endorsed both Larry Danduran and Jason Steidl, who said Weisz and Nelson were not conservative enough. Weisz responded to the challenge by saying that his long-term experience in the chamber was an asset to his constituents. He also said that he ensured rural voices were heard during policy debates. Weisz and Nelson won the Republican primary with 28.7% and 26.0% of the vote, respectively. Steidl and Danduran received 24.1% and 21.2%, respectively. In North Dakota, two representatives are elected to each House district.
