Matt Gress was born in Oklahoma, and lives in Arizona. Gress earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma, where he was selected for the Harry S. Truman scholarship, and an M.P.A. from Syracuse University. His career experience includes working as a public school teacher, a faculty associate at Arizona State University, a budget analyst at the Arizona State Capitol, and a budget chief in the Arizona Governor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting.
