Louise Stutes is a resident of Kodiak, where she has lived since 1980. She is a retired business owner and served for 25 years as the owner of the Village Bar. Prior to her service in the Alaska State House of Representatives, she served as a Kodiak Island Borough Assembly Member, a board member and president for the Southwest Alaska Municipal Conference, and a board member for the Providence Kodiak Island Counseling Center, the Kodiak Borough Fisheries Advisory Group, the Kodiak Borough and City of Kodiak Fisheries Work Group, and the Monashka Bay Road Service Area. She was also a State CHARR Board Member and served as a Kodiak CHARR president. Her community involvement includes the Kodiak Lions Club, the Kodiak Elks Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, the D.A.R., and serving as the President of the Pioneers of Alaska Igloo 17.
