G. Helen Whitener is a judge for Position 6 of the Washington Supreme Court. She assumed office on April 24, 2020. Her current term ends on January 7, 2029. Whitener ran for re-election for the Position 6 judge of the Washington Supreme Court. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022. Whitener first became a member of the Washington Supreme Court when she was appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee on April 13, 2020, to succeed former Justice Charlie Wiggins. The Washington State Supreme Court is the court of last resort in the state. It has nine judgeships.
