Dave Prestin

Representative · District 108
Michigan

Rep. Dave Prestin was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022. He represents the 108th District, which includes the Upper Peninsula counties of Delta, Menominee, Schoolcraft, Luce as well as parts of Chippewa, and Mackinac. Prestin is a first responder for his community, continuing to serve as a volunteer paramedic and firefighter for the last 15 years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked as a hospital-based paramedic and as a substitute teacher to help fill critical staffing shortages in both fields. He is also a small-business owner who specialized in rehabilitating neglected properties, most recently Cedar River Plaza. Prestin served 4 years on the Menominee County Board of Commissioners. He also served 9 years on the Alger Delta Electrical Cooperative Board of Directors, a distributive energy cooperative serving 10,000-plus members in the UP. The board drew upon his business experience and appointed him to serve as an interim manager, where he oversaw daily operations of the cooperative during a time of transition. Prestin has also been involved with Mid County 114 Rescue Squad Board of Directors, the Stephenson Chapter of the Lions Club, and the Stephenson Eagles Booster Club.
