
After earning her Master’s degree in crop and soil sciences with a specialization in environmental toxicology, Rep. Brixie ran a mobile laboratory, conducting investigations and cleanups of contaminated sites all over Michigan. She served on the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission in 1998 and 1999, followed by 18 years on the Meridian Township Board, serving as a Trustee and Treasurer. During her time on the Meridian Township Board, she helped generate $1.4 billion of sustainable investment, placed 954 acres into the public trust for permanent preservation, invested in renewable energy, implemented a plan to fully fund retirement plans, and led efforts to repair neighborhood roads.
