
Kelvin Datcher earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Gettysburg College in 1992. His career experience includes working as the director of teaching tolerance at the Southern Poverty Law Center, as a sports information director at Alabama State University, as an administrative/policy analyst for the Jefferson County Department of Health, as chief of staff to the city councilmember for district six of the Birmingham City Council, as director of development for REV Birmingham, and as the deputy director of community development for the City of Birmingham. Datcher was also the Alabama state director for the 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders.
