Kate Lalley was born in Washington, D.C., and lives in Vermont. Lalley graduated from Immaculata Preparatory School in 1980. She earned a B.A. in English from Kenyon College in 1984 and a master’s in landscape architecture from the University of Virginia in 1992. Her career experience includes working in landscape and urban design and as a regional planner.
