Born in Washington, D.C., Andrea Fletcher Harrison received an A.A. in Micro Computer Systems from Prince George's Community College in 1992 and a B.A. in Public Policy from Bowie State University in 2002. She worked as a Network Administrator for the Walter Reed Army Medical Campus, Office of Naval Research, and the Defense Communications Agency from 1988 to 1996, and later as a Network Administrator and Helpdesk Assistant Manager for SIGNAL Corp. Her career also includes roles as a Development Specialist for Nancy Jacobson Consulting and extensive experience in local government, serving in constituent services and as a deputy chief of staff/policy director for the Prince George's County Council Office from 2002 to 2008. She served on the Prince George's County Council, District 5, from 2008 to 2018 and was first elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2018, taking office on January 9, 2019. Her public service history includes memberships on the Mental Health Advisory Board, the Prince George's County Juvenile Court and School Safety Work Group, the Joint Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Governance Review Task Force, the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority, and the Drug and Alcohol Council.
