William Sharer (also known as Bill) is a member of the New Mexico State Senate, representing District 1. He assumed office in 2001. His current term ends on December 31, 2028. Sharer ran for re-election to the New Mexico State Senate to represent District 1. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024. Sharer was selected as the Senate minority leader effective January 21, 2025.
