Born in Gary, Indiana, Robbyn Lewis graduated from the Latin School of Chicago and received her B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Chicago, followed by an M.P.H. in International Health from Columbia University. Her professional career began as an English as a Second Language Teacher in Taiwan and a courier for the Frontier Nursing Service. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger, Africa, and later held positions as a Laboratory Research Intern at the Public Health Research Institute, a consultant for UNICEF and the World Bank, and a researcher at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. Her background also includes roles as a Program Manager for Jhpiego, a Senior Program Officer for Family Health International, a regional manager for Ipas, and a Special Assistant at the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange.
