Gary Dahms was born in Clements, Minnesota, and lives in Redwood Falls. Dahms graduated from Redwood Falls High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural business administration from the University of Minnesota. His career experience includes working as an insurance agent at American Family Insurance and owning and operating Dahms Insurance Agency. Dahms served as president of the Redwood Area Education Foundation.
