Ming W. Chin was an associate justice on the seven-member California Supreme Court. He served on the court from 1996 to 2020. He was appointed to the court in 1996 by former Republican Governor Pete Wilson. Chin was retained by voters for additional twelve-year terms in November 1998 and November 2010. Chin retired from the court on August 31, 2020. Prior to assuming his seat on the state supreme court, Chin served on the California First District Court of Appeals and the Alameda County Superior Court.
