Born in Cowdensville, Maryland, Adrienne A. Jones is a long-serving member of the Maryland House of Delegates, having been first elected in 1998 and serving since 1997. Her extensive legislative career includes serving as Speaker of the House from 2019 to 2025 and as Speaker Pro Tem from 2003 to 2019. Beyond her legislative work, she was employed by Baltimore County government from 1976 to 2014, including roles as the Director of the Office of Minority Affairs, Executive Director of the Office of Fair Practices and Community Affairs, and Deputy Director of the Office of Human Resources. Additionally, she was a part-time columnist for The Baltimore Times from 1990 to 2000.
