Dawne Shand earned a bachelor's degree in economics and French from the University of Alabama in 1992 and a master's degree in creative nonfiction from Emerson College in 2005. Shand's career experience includes working as a writer and as the campaign manager of Jamie Zahlaway Belsito's 2020 congressional campaign. She served as the director of The Tannery Series.
