
Rick Chavez Zbur was born in Peralta, New Mexico, and lives in Los Angeles, California. Zbur earned a bachelor's degree in history from Yale College in 1979 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1983. His career experience includes working as an attorney for Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles, California, and as the executive director of Equality California. Zbur volunteered on the national board of Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, helped found the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation, and served on the board of Planned Parenthood – Los Angeles and California Environmental Voters.
