
Matt Slater was elected to the New York State Assembly on November 8, 2022. Raised in Yorktown, Matt was first elected as the youngest supervisor of the Town of Yorktown in 2019 and reelected in 2021. As town supervisor, Matt Slater balanced Yorktown’s budget through spending cuts and economic growth and cut town taxes for the first time in three decades. Prior to his election as Yorktown town supervisor, Matt served as chief of staff to former state Sen. Terrence Murphy for four years. In 2022, Matt received a Presidential Direct Commission as an officer in the Navy Reserves and is currently assigned to the Military Sealift Command based in Norfolk, VA.
