I moved to Tillamook in 1970 to escape the cold weather of the Midwest. I taught first through third grade children for 30 years. I've operated two small businesses, served on Tillamook City Council and then as mayor. As Tillamook Mayor, I focused on economic development issues that are critical to the rural communities in Senate District 16. As a longtime local elected official, I am a big believer in state legislation that protects the ability of Oregon’s distinct communities to decide for themselves what their priorities are. I have spent my career helping kids and families right here in Rural Northwest Oregon.
