
Representative Donna Mears holds a degree in Bioenvironmental Engineering from Rutgers University and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Michigan. Her professional background includes work with Central Environmental, Inc., a Bering Straits Native Corporation, as well as positions with MOA Solid Waste Services, Garness Engineering Group, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, and the Anchorage Health Department. Her legislative service includes roles as Co-chair of the Anchorage Delegation and Co-chair of the Food & Farm Caucus. In other public and community service, she has served as Chair of the Anchorage Health and Human Services Commission and the On-Site Water and Wastewater Technical Review Board, as well as an executive board member for the Northeast Community Council. She is also a member of the Solid Waste Association of North America, Alaska Chapter, where she serves as Vice President and Instructor.
