She worked as a policy aide in the California State Capitol, as a project director for the California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation, as district director to California state Sen. Michael J. Rubio, and as a policy advisor to California state Assemblymember Henry T. Perea. As of her 2020 campaign, Soria was a professor at Fresno City College.
