Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Mary-Dulany James is an attorney and served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 1999 to 2015 representing District 34A. She was elected to the Maryland Senate in November 2022 and has been a member of the Senate since January 11, 2023. She has extensive experience in private practice as a partner and principal at various law firms including Venable, Baetjer and Howard and her current firm, James & Zink. Her public service history includes roles on the State Advisory Council on Administrative Hearings and the Maryland Military Installation Council.
