Ryan Lauer graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in biochemistry. He has served on the Bartholomew County Council after being elected in 2010, and in 2014, he was named the president of the council. Lauer also served as the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Merit Board and Community Corrections Advisory Board. Other than his public service, Lauer has career experience as a technical specialist at Cummins. He has been involved in the American Chemical Society, the National Rifle Association, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
