Born in Takoma Park, Maryland, David Moon graduated from Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland in 1997. He went on to earn a B.A. in Sociology and Philosophy from Tufts University in 2001 and a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, in 2004. Moon served as the Chief Operating Officer for FairVote from 2004 to 2009 and acted as the interim chief of staff and senior legislative aide to Montgomery County Councilmember Nancy Navarro from 2009 to 2010. He has worked as a progressive political consultant with Moon Strategies since 2010, is the founder and editor of MarylandJuice.com, has served as a program director for Demand Progress since 2011, and was the Executive Director of Communities for Transit in 2013. He was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2014 and has been a member since 2015.
