Few is the former chief judge for the South Carolina Court of Appeals. He was nominated to the appeals court by the South Carolina Judicial Merit Selection Commission in 2009 to fill the seat vacated by Kaye Hearn when she joined the South Carolina Supreme Court, and was elected to the seat by the South Carolina State Legislature on February 3, 2010. He was re-elected to the seat in February of 2015. Prior to being appointed to the court of appeals, Few was a judge for the Thirteenth Circuit Court of South Carolina. He joined that court in 2000. Few was one of five initial candidates under consideration by the state's Judicial Merit Selection Commission to fill the South Carolina Supreme Court vacancy created by the retirement of Chief Justice Jean Toal in December 2015. He made two unsuccessful bids for the South Carolina Supreme Court before being elected to the court in 2016. In 2011 Few participated in the Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Initiative.
