Representative Nellie Unangiq Jimmie is a Yupik, Ojibwa and Lakota descendant. She grew up subsistence and commercial fishing. She embraces all her traditional knowledge. She served on the Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) Board as the representative for Toksook Bay.
