R. Fred Lewis was an associate justice of the Florida Supreme Court. Gov. Lawton Chiles appointed Lewis to the court in 1998. Lewis was retained in 2006 and 2012. Lewis retired January 7, 2019. Lewis served as chief justice of the Florida Supreme Court from 2006 until 2008.
