Sylvia Allen is a resident of Snowflake, Arizona, with family roots in the White Mountains dating back to 1876. She has 25 years of experience serving within the political arena, starting as a precinct committeeman and serving as the Navajo County Republican Chairman. She was appointed to replace Representative David Marshall on April 29, 2026. Previously, she was appointed to finish a Senate term in 2008 and served as an Arizona Senator from 2008 to 2012 and 2014 to 2020. During her time in the Senate, she served in leadership positions including President Pro Tempore and chaired both the Border Security, States' Rights and Sovereignty Committee and the Senate Education Committee. She also served as a Navajo County Supervisor from 2012 to 2014. Throughout her career, she has held roles as the Southwest Field Director for People for the West/USA, the Desert Southwest Coordinator for Project Protect, and the President of the Freedom for America League. In 2014, she co-founded the George Washington Academy charter school in Snowflake, where she handled administration and developed character education curriculum. She has also served on numerous boards and committees, including the Mogollon Medical Foundation, the Transmission Line Sitting Committee, and the Arizona/New Mexico Coalition of Counties.
