Ash Kalra lives in San Jose, California. Kalra earned a B.A. in communication from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1993, and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1996. His career experience includes working as a planning commissioner with the City of San Jose, as a deputy public defender for Santa Clara County, and as a professor at Lincoln Law School of San Jose. Kalra volunteered with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
