Born in Salisbury, Maryland, April Rose graduated from Arlington Baptist High School in Baltimore, Maryland, and attended Villa Julie College from 1986-1987. Her professional background includes work as an underwriter at Countrywide Home Loans, a licensed realtor with Main Street America Realty, LLC, an events coordinator and fundraiser for the Maryland Republican Party, a communications coordinator for the Maryland Republican Caucus, and a vice-president for special projects at the Maryland Taxpayers Association. She currently serves as a recruiter and human resources manager at NMR Consulting. She was appointed to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2015 and elected in 2018.
