Jim Hawkins is the District 6 representative on the Sumner County Board of Education in Tennessee. He was first elected to the board in the general election on August 4, 2016. Hawkins is an attorney. He served as the secretary of the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County from 2012 to 2016. Hawkins earned a bachelor's degree in government from Centre College, a master's degree in educational policy studies from the Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, and a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law.
