Eddie Charbonier Chinea was born on March 15, 1982, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. During his middle and high school years, he developed a strong interest in national and foreign politics, driven by a desire to help his country. This interest led him to spend his free time in the Legislative Assembly viewing sessions, reading bills at the Legislative Library, and writing to legislators regarding his ideas for improving the country. In 1999, after writing to Governor Pedro Rosselló, he was appointed as a youth advisor. His passion for politics grew, and he became a leader in the party's youth wing, serving as President of the San Juan Youth, Regional Director of the Youth, First Vice President of the State Youth, and Regional Director of the Young Republicans. Starting at age 16, he worked in the House of Representatives, later working part-time for the Municipality of San Juan as an advisor to the Mayor on youth affairs. His efforts led to his appointment to the Municipal Cabinet as Director of the Office of Community Contact. He subsequently moved to the Senate to serve as a Legislative Advisor under the presidency of Thomas Rivera Schatz, where he supervised the Senate Education Commission. In the 2016 primaries, he earned the support of the people and was elected on November 8, 2016, as the Representative for District 1 of San Juan. As a Representative, he has served as President of the Commission for the Development of the Capital City and Youth Affairs, and President of the Joint Commission for the Córdova and Fernós Congressional Internship Program.
