
William W. Hood is a judge of the Colorado Supreme Court. He assumed office on January 13, 2014. His current term ends on January 11, 2027. Hood first became a member of the court by appointment. He was appointed to the court by Gov. John Hickenlooper in 2013 to fill the vacancy created when former Chief Justice Michael Bender retired. Hood was sworn in on January 13, 2014. Justice Hood was required to stand for retention in 2016 in order to serve a full term. He was retained to a 10-year term that began in January 2017 and expires on January 11, 2027. Prior to joining the state supreme court, Hood served on the Colorado 2nd Judicial District court.
