Tatiana Pérez Ramírez was born on May 21, 1988, in New York City to a diverse family with a Puerto Rican father and a Colombian mother. Her home, however, has always been the El Cibao neighborhood in the municipality of Camuy. From an early age, she distinguished herself through her values, education, and desire to work hard for her family and the community where she grew up. She completed her academic training in the island’s public schools and entered the workforce as a young person to help fund her university studies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, Arecibo Campus. She completed her Master’s degree with high honors in Educational Management and Leadership from the same institution, where she was awarded the Rector’s Medal in recognition of her hard work and academic excellence. Throughout her professional career, she has worked in both the private and public sectors, including roles in restaurants and supermarkets. She later moved into public service as a teacher with the Department of Education and served as a Municipal Legislator in Camuy, where she focused on the educational, security, and infrastructure needs of the communities she served. Pérez Ramírez focused on assisting communities following the devastation caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017, helping to provide emotional support to those who lost everything. Motivated by her commitment to the families of Puerto Rico, she pursued elected office and was elected Representative-at-Large on November 5, 2024. She was appointed to chair the Education Committee.
