Matthew Fader is a judge for the 3rd Circuit of the Maryland Supreme Court. He assumed office on April 14, 2022. His current term ends on December 31, 2034. Fader ran for re-election for the 3rd Circuit judge of the Maryland Supreme Court. He won in the retention election on November 5, 2024. Fader became a member of the Maryland Supreme Court through gubernatorial appointment. Gov. Larry Hogan appointed Fader to the position on February 17, 2022. The court's name changed from the Maryland Court of Appeals to the Maryland Supreme Court, following a ballot initiative that voters approved in November 2022. Fader began serving as chief judge of the Maryland Supreme Court on April 15, 2022.
