James Roberson is a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 39. He assumed office on January 13, 2021. His current term ends on January 1, 2027. The Democratic primary for this office on March 3, 2026, was canceled. On January 9, 2021, Wake County Democrats nominated Roberson to replace former District 39 Rep. Darren Jackson. Gov. Roy Cooper formally appointed Roberson on January 11, 2021, effective January 13 of that year.
