
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Jon S. Cardin attended The Park School in Brooklandville. He earned a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University in 1992, an M.P.S. in Policy Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 1996, an M.A. in Judaic Studies with honors from Baltimore Hebrew University in 1996, and a J.D. with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2001. His professional career has included roles as a Spanish teacher and coach at Mercersburg Academy, a community relations associate for the Baltimore Jewish Council, executive director of the Project Judaica Foundation, a position at the Office of the Public Defender in Baltimore, and work as a law clerk. He has practiced as a principal at the Law Offices of Jon S. Cardin and at CWO Strategies. He served in the House of Delegates from 2003 to 2015 and has served continuously since 2019.
