Lopez earned her B.B.A. and her MBA from the College of Santa Fe in 1987 and 1992, respectively. Her professional experience includes working as a recruiter for Presbyterian Healthcare Services and as the owner of Lopez Consulting. Lopez ran for Governor of New Mexico in the 2014 election. She was defeated in the primary election on June 3, 2014.
