James Skoufis is a member of the New York State Senate, representing District 42. He assumed office on January 1, 2023. His current term ends on January 1, 2027. On November 30, 2024, Skoufis announced his campaign for chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Skoufis withdrew from the race on January 16, 2025.
