
Perry Dozier was born in Walla Walla, Washington. Dozier graduated from Prescott High School. He earned a B.A. in economics from Whitman College. Dozier's career experience includes working as the interim manager of the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days, as the president of the Washington Association of Wheat Growers, as the Washington State Barley Commissioner, and owning and operating Double D Ranches. He has been affiliated with the Northwest Grain Growers, the Washington Farm Bureau, the Tri-Cities Grain Board, the Waitsburg Historical Society, the Fort Walla Walla Museum, and the Presbyterian Church of Walla Walla.
