John Shubeck is a member of the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 16. He assumed office on September 17, 2025. His current term ends on January 12, 2027. Shubeck is running for re-election to the South Dakota House of Representatives to represent District 16. He is on the ballot in the Republican primary on June 2, 2026. Gov. Larry Rhoden appointed Shubeck to the South Dakota House of Representatives to replace former Rep. Richard Vasgaard.
